Ashita Sehgal, a sophomore Honors student, is majoring in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Economics. Ashita enjoys staying involved on campus and exploring Athens. She conducts research at UGA’s Regenerative Bioscience Center, where she is designing therapeutic interventions to lessen the effects of brain injuries. Her interest in health policy led her to joining the Roosevelt Institute, a student-run non partisan think tank. She volunteers with The LunchBox Garden project, for which she is the social media and events coordinator. She also is the treasurer for UGA’s Women in Science Association and serves as a panelist for the Student Academic Honesty Council. Among these activities, she is a vocalist for UGA’s premiere southeast asian a cappella group, Kalakaar. She hopes to attend an MD/PhD program to pursue her passion for research and medicine.
